Do Not Endure These 4 Types of Pain

Do Not Endure These 4 Types of Pain

Pain could be a warning signal from your body, and it's really not advisable to "endure pain", especially for these types of pain!

Published date

Lower back pain, neck pain, shoulder pain from work, menstrual pain that women endure every month, sudden toothache, stomach ache, headache...

What would you do in such situations? Most people might say, "It's not a big deal, I'll tough it out." However, this approach is wrong.

Pain could be a warning signal from your body, and it's really not advisable to "endure pain", especially for these types of pain!

PART 01: Headache

The causes of headaches are complex.

If you experience the following three situations, you must pay attention!

  1. Morning Headaches

Morning headaches may be caused by cervical spondylosis or elevated blood lipids, among other conditions.

When cervical spondylosis compresses the arteries in the neck, it can easily lead to insufficient blood supply to the brain and trigger headaches.

It is recommended to go to the hospital for head and neck CT scans or to check various blood parameters such as lipid levels as soon as possible.

  1. Gradually Increasing Headaches

Excluding migraines or the effects of certain medications, gradually increasing headaches should alert you to the possibility of intracranial tumors or subdural hematomas.

  1. Sudden Severe Headaches

Conditions like cerebral hemorrhage, subarachnoid hemorrhage, or ruptured brain tumors can cause sudden and severe headaches.

In such cases, please go to the hospital for examination as soon as possible.

PART 02: Toothache

Most toothache problems originate from the teeth themselves, such as dental caries, pulpitis, periapical periodontitis, or periodontal abscesses.

These can generally be resolved through anti-inflammatory treatment, root canal therapy, etc.

However, there are many other reasons that can also cause toothaches.

  1. Toothaches Caused by Trigeminal Neuralgia

Speaking, chewing, brushing teeth, or even a gust of cool wind can be very painful.

This type of pain is usually unilateral and may have a "trigger point."

Any contact with this point can cause pain. In such cases, it is recommended to seek treatment from a specialist in neurology.

  1. Toothaches Caused by Hypertension

Patients with arteriosclerosis combined with hypertension may experience toothaches due to arterial spasms.

If peripheral arteries experience spasm contraction at this time, it can lead to bleeding in the dental pulp and poor nutrition of the dental tissues, thus triggering toothaches.

People with a history of heart disease or hypertension should be vigilant because this type of pain may be an atypical symptom of myocardial infarction.

  1. Toothaches Caused by Diabetes

Diabetic patients are prone to periodontal disease.

Due to high blood sugar, the concentration of glucose in saliva increases, reducing the effectiveness of oral cleaning, making bacterial reproduction easier.

At the same time, the immune function of diabetic patients decreases, and the teeth's ability to clear invading microorganisms is also impaired.

PART 03: Chest Pain

The chest contains vital organs such as the heart and lungs.

The causes of chest pain are complex, and the severity varies.

Some chest pains can be life-threatening and require prompt emergency treatment, such as angina pectoris, myocardial infarction, or aortic dissection; non-cardiac chest pain may include pulmonary embolism or certain pneumothorax episodes.

Attention!

  1. Chest pain caused by coronary heart disease is one of the most serious and common types of chest pain. Among 10 cases of initial coronary heart disease attacks, 1 case is sudden death, 4 cases are myocardial infarction, and 5 cases are angina pectoris.

  2. If chest pain is accompanied by difficulty breathing, cold sweats, and fainting, and it cannot be relieved or worsens after 20 minutes, please call an ambulance immediately or go to the hospital for treatment as quickly as possible. Because these symptoms often indicate more serious diseases such as myocardial infarction, aortic dissection, or pulmonary embolism, which require urgent treatment.

PART 04: Abdominal Pain

Everyone may experience abdominal pain, and the causes of abdominal pain are also very complex, with various locations and degrees.

However, these types of abdominal pain must be treated promptly.

  1. Abdominal Pain after Overeating

Excessive food intake can stimulate the pancreas to secrete a large amount of digestive fluid, which may lead to inflammation of the duodenum or reflux of pancreatic juice due to poor drainage.

In addition, overeating can often cause vomiting, intraduodenal high pressure, etc., which may cause reflux of pancreatic juice and thus trigger acute pancreatitis.

  1. Upper Abdominal Pain Accompanied by Chest Tightness/Shortness of Breath/Nausea/Belching (Hiccups)

Sometimes upper abdominal pain may not be a gastrointestinal problem, especially in elderly people with a history of coronary heart disease, hypertension, or hyperlipidemia. If there is upper abdominal pain, nausea, belching, and chest tightness, it may be a sign of a heart attack.

If there is back or jaw pain, accompanied by shortness of breath and vomiting, seek medical attention immediately!

  1. Abdominal Pain May Also Be Accompanied by Intestinal Obstruction

Most patients with colon cancer have symptoms of abdominal pain, mostly hidden pain.

When complicated with intestinal obstruction, it may also present as abdominal cramping.

If a patient experiences persistent abdominal discomfort, hidden pain, and bloating in daily life, and the symptoms do not improve after general treatment, be alert to the possibility of colon cancer.

  1. Lower Abdominal Pain in Women

Excluding dysmenorrhea or appendicitis, if pregnancy is confirmed and there is a sudden tearing pain in the lower abdomen, often starting from one side of the lower abdomen and spreading to the entire abdomen, accompanied by a small amount of vaginal bleeding or even a feeling of rectal prolapse, be vigilant as it may indicate an ectopic pregnancy.

Seek medical attention promptly and do not delay the condition.

Attention!

This does not mean that you can ignore other types of pain as long as they are not these.

When encountering pain that you cannot handle or whose cause is unclear, seek help from a doctor or professional immediately, and do not hold onto the idea of "enduring it, and it will pass."

While treating the disease, do not forget to "treat the pain."

PART 05

In life, some people rely too much on painkillers and take them immediately at the slightest sensation of pain; at the same time, many people are overly cautious and endure even when the pain is unbearable, affecting their quality of life.

Some people feel that the effect of painkillers is not obvious after taking them, so regardless of medical advice and usage instructions, they increase the dosage privately.

Doing so not only fails to alleviate pain but may also cause other discomforts in the body.

Therefore, when you find that the painkillers you are currently using are ineffective, seek medical attention promptly and ask the doctor to adjust the medication.

Many people are afraid of addiction and refuse to use painkillers.

However, enduring pain may delay the best diagnosis and treatment time for many diseases.

For example, for cancer patients, timely and regular medication is safer and more effective, and the required dosage is also lower.

Patients who cannot relieve pain for a long time are prone to anxiety, insomnia, affecting their quality of life, and making it difficult for them to tolerate surgery, radiotherapy, and chemotherapy for primary diseases.

Pain accompanies us from birth to death

Its existence is a warning

An adaptation, a protection

Even if "no one cares"

Remember to: love yourself
