Ryan Kaji, a 9-year-old Vietnamese boy living in Texas, topped the Forbes list of the world’s highest paid YouTube bloggers once again. And this is already the 3rd consecutive year that he topped the list.

In 2020, when many other 9-year-old children are still taking online courses at home, Ryan has already been testing toys in front of camera. During this year, his family has made nearly $30 million on YouTube by making toy-unpacking videos. In 2018 and 2019, he topped this blogger ranking for 2 consecutive times, with 22 million $ and 26 million $ respectively. This year is the third time that he retained the title.

Meanwhile, his brand clothing, toys, and series of product collaborations also brought him nearly $200 million.

Children blogger - another kind of childhood with strong commercial atmosphere

After visiting Ryan’s channel on YouTube, we found that this “genius internet celebrity child” is very talented in video content creation.

Facing the camera, the chubby boy was adorkable at one moment, and innocent and lively the next, always wearing a vivid and childlike expression. In the video, the joy and surprise he expressed when opening the toy box was as real as it was about to overflow the screen.

Maybe the bigger the pressure in adult world is, the more attractive the joy in the eyes of children will be. His channel not only attracted a large number of preschool children, but also harvest a lot of attention from young parents.

In 2015, when he still was a 4-year-old kid, he asked his parents, “Why couldn’t I share my favorite toys on YouTube like other kids?” Inspired by this, his parents decided to set up one channel for him, and took him to a toy store and bought him a set of Lego trains. This is how it all get started.

They named this channel Ryan Toys Review, which mainly upload children’s toys unpacking evaluations. So far, his family runs 9 YouTube channels with a total of 41.7 million subscribers, among which Ryan’sWorld is the most popular.

On Ryan’s channels, the most viewed video has reached 2 billion times. In a 6-minute short video, he is standing on an inflatable slide, running with a huge and colorful egg, opening the little toys inside and introducing one by one, giving off a thick atmosphere of cuteness, simpleness and innocence.

Somewhat similarly, another child on the blogger ranking list, 6-year-old Russian girl Anastasia, ranked 7th with an income of $18.5 million. Last year, her first appearance on the list was 18 million $, ranking 3rd.

Anastasia, like a little princess, however, was diagnosed with cerebral palsy since she was born. The doctor once worried that she would not be able to speak forever. Her parents wanted her to have a good childhood, so they began to record her growth with camera. Now, her channel Like Nastya has 66 million subscribers. Two years ago, a 5-minute short video has been viewed 850 million times.

Videos of her daily play and life interaction are being broadcast on Internet in 7 languages every day.
